American Idol Round of 3: A Horseplayer's Perspective

Don't get me wrong, because I am certainly going to hunt you down in five years and exact my gloating, but I'm not trying to say she's going to outsell Kelly Clarkson or anything.

But the fact remains that her exuberant personality, obvious vocal talent, cute looks, and ability to sell pop songs make her a pretty darn attractive prospect as a pop recording artist.

I've not thought that of many Idol winners, which is something I brought up here some time back when we were all talking about Idol. The Idol winners who I have liked, have gone on to do very very well. (Kelly, Carrie, and to a lesser extent Fantasia) The Idol winners who I thought should have lost to their finale opponent have struggled. (Ruben, Taylor)

Translation? I've got a pretty ****ing impressive history at determining who on Idol is an attractive marketing package, so tread lightly on this one grasshopper(s).
