Phoenix played a hell of a game. They hit their shots and the Spurs did not in crunch time. Hats off to the Suns. They showed tremendous grit in that game. Raja Bell and Kurt Thomas have had a huge toughness impact on this team. Nash is a wonderful competitor. I really like the way Phoenix plays now as opposed to prior years. Hope this goes 7 as it is great basketball and really fun to watch for me. This is by far the best series of any played so far, its not even close. |

![]() Stoudamire and Diaw suspended for game 5 and Horry.
I understand the rules about coming off the bench but I really wish these guys would play (except Horry). This series is too much fun to watch. |

![]() Coach K, in his book "Leading With the Heart", said this:
"Too many rules get in the way of leadership. They just put you in a box and, sooner or later, a rule-happy leader will wind up in a situation where he wants to use some discretion but is forced to go along with some decree that he himself has concocted. The truth is that many people set rules to keep from making decisions. Not me. I don't want to be a manager or a dictator. I want to be a leader---and leadership is ongoing, adjustable, flexible, and dynamic. As such, leaders have to maintain a certain amount of discretion. The fact that I don't have a hard and fast rule gives me flexibility in cases like these. It provides me the latitude to lead. It also allows me to show that I care about the kids on my team and it demonstrates that I'm trying to be fair-minded. David Stern should read this.

Just amazes me that this piece of trash gets to play, and Phoenix loses top players (because another Spur piece of trash had to do his cheap shot.)Well,PGRDN,this is why I despise your team.Nothing of any class whatsoever about that organization. If it had any, then they wouldn't want these thugz playing for them. You have had this thug Bowen hacking people for years. He could probably be elected mayor there.I really don't know how anybody can look at the kick to the achilles,or the kneeing this guy does, and just blow it off.Guy shouldn't be allowed to play in the playoffs, but Stern lets this filth get away with anything. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vp8iJppJ15s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3n40cOkKTA Last edited by SCUDSBROTHER : 05-17-2007 at 01:20 AM. |

![]() Pgardn: sorry to disagree but the best hands by a 'big man' go to Bill Walton on the TrailBlazers Championship team! If not for bad knees..Walton could have been a real force in NBA.....That Blazer team was the epitome of team play. And Scuds..it does appear that Bowen is cheapshot artist, with intent to hurt an opposing player. Where's Stuey??

![]() They will never amend this rule....2 steps from the bench......bang!!! 1 game vacation no exceptions!!
As long as Stern is king ain't no change in the rules that stem from "The Brawl"... Sorry but Robert Horry sits with the others and someone needs to geld Bruce Bowen while we're talking about dirty defense!!!!! "And the Bill Lambeer award for NBA sportsman of the year goes to .......Bruce Bowen".......(presenting the award in the spirit of good sportsmanship representing the NBA "Mr Technical" himself Rasheed Wallace)...... |

Phoenix is finally playing defense and I am also worried for a diff. reason. They did not give up, which is something to be admired. Chicago has found a way to score but I think its a bit too late. Detroit is acting like the fat cat again, they have done this before. The Phoenix/Spurs series so far has been great entertainment and very good basketball. Two very good teams in diff. ways. I must give credit to Phoenix because they were so easy before, they just crumbled. They finally played very determined defensively at the end of a game. I also am amused as the Spurs have always been considered soft. Cant win with David Robinson, too nice. Cant win with Duncan, too nice. Cant win with Parker, too nice. And now one would think the Spurs are the Oakland Raiders. Its funny. We are an old team playing a young strong pup and pulling out all the tricks being overmatched athletically. If the Spurs do not do something significant in the off-season it will be a long rebuilding period. We are flat out old and experience only goes so far. |
