High Chaparral (just so good on his day, had top class wins at 10-12f)
Sinndar (terribly underrated, was such a good racehorse, his Arc win was superb)
Galileo (brilliant on his day but career finished on a downer)
Alamshar (inflicted Dalakhani's only loss and was class in the King George)
Dylan Thomas (can obviously move up the list!)
Yeats (shy of top class over 12f but has made into a special stayer)
Fracas (he's ok!!)

Hope Mores Wells can win today, but it will be tough for him against four runners that will help eachother out.

Fair play to Prendergast for running him, when many have been frightened off. He is the most likely Epsom Derby winner i have seen so far. It's not the end of the world if he gets beaten today, will just mean people will lay a bigger price for me to snap up!

Well, i would be very surprised if any kind of Derby winner was in the Derrinstown today. Macarthur looks moderate and i still think he needs soft ground.

Mores Wells was really disappointing. He will improve with a step up in trip, but he didn't have the gears to go with them when they quicked today. Looks like my Derby bet is down the pan already.

Well, i really hope Mahler gets aimed at the race because he has impressed me the most.

i dont know just why macauthor was odds on fav when O'Brien was quoted in the morning as saying that there was a slight tweak in his muscle after the last race... the race didnt look great beforehand but the winner won it well and is entitled to improve dramatically as it was his first run of the year.. Im sticking with Admiral though...

It was a poor race in my opinion. The winner has the right to improve, but if he is good enough to win the Epsom Derby this year, it will be a sorry state of affairs.

Macarthur was an apparent good thing according to people in the know, but i don't like the horse. He will be a different animal on soft ground and over further.

At least rate, we are going to have a real competitive St Leger, or a very hot Triumph hurdle next year!!!

Mahler is (and i quote) a "machine" and that comes from someone connected with the horse. They really should consider him for Epsom, not least because i have backed him!

mahler improved dramatically first run to 2nd and has already won over the Derby trip so no stamina doubts there..theres a lot to like about him..

despite the royal lodge not being the best trial for future champs, i thought i saw a monster horse that day and still believe that after this week in chester.

ill stay positive about this race. last years was knocked by most and it turned out to be a good winner. O'Briens derby horses will improve dramatically from now until Epsom and I wouldnt be surprised if the winner finds the 10 or so pounds to be competitive in Epsom..
We'll find out alot during the week with Authorised, but hope Salford Mill runs to get a bit of a guide.. i liked his win, but saying that Aculpoco wouldnt be that high up the pecking order in Ballydoyle

I was impressed with admiralofthefleet at Chester, but i just think 10furlongs might be his limit on stamina. He has the class but i'm not sure how much petrol there will be left in the tank when on the run for home in the Derby. Stamina is crucial to win the Derby with the pace they go and with the first 5-6furlongs being on an incline. He looked to stay on at Chester, but it's a sharp track on the level and why hold him up at Chester if they knew he would get home??

Mahler has impressed me a great deal and i have had a dabble in the market at a nice price. My friend says he has strengthened so much since he won last week even, so that is positive.

Duke Of Marmalade is also certain to take in the Irish 2000 guineas instead of the Derby, as might Eagle Mountain.

Acapulco is VERY well thought of, but i get the impression that Salford Mill might just be a bit special without people actually realising it just yet. I haven't backed him for the Derby yet, but i probably will...... he looks very classy actually, and i hope he goes for the Dante to lower the colours of the massively overrated Authorized!!!

I didn't see anything today that warranted me to take notice for the Derby, i certainly didn't knock last years Derrinstown, but this years was pretty average. Mores Wells had his excuses i suppose, but i couldn't really fancy him anymore for the Derby, but i still think he will win a nice race this year.

I'm not sure the winner or the second will stay either, although they looked to be staying on nicely (especially Yellowstone), both he and Archipenko will struggle to stay a quickly run 12 furlongs judging on their pedigree in my opinion.

Aidan, you know it makes sense. Just run Mahler and Soldier Of Fortune!!!
