![]() I should clarify this as the 70# is a number that doesn't accurately define what a horse can lose just running a race, but rather total weight loss in a day.. A 10# weight loss from running a race isn't necessarily 'stunningly low'..

![]() Without stepping on a scale I have no idea how someone can determine if a horse lost 10 or 20 lbs in a race. I have heard a wide variety of numbers but remember that most horses lose a lot of water weight before they even get to the paddock if they are on Lasix.
