When does the Derby betting officially open?

Can you bet on the entire Saturday card on Friday or just the Derby? I'd prefer to wait and see how the track is playing but I won't be able to bet on Saturday. . .

Hockey, I love U man but if U are working on Derby day U should really find another job....BTW, U can only bet on the derby Fri.
