I think Chuck will run her back at $50k, and if she gets claimed....well, that's the name of the game. And the partnership (Chuck included) will have made a good profit and hopefully use it to upgrade or do more of the same. I'd be VERY pleased if my first foray in horse ownership ended up being the horse getting claimed for double what the partnership paid for it. Horse racing is a business... and should be treated as such, even though the main objective here is to enjoy the experience. If one can enjoy the experience AND make some money, I'd call that success.
