And you did.

And I responded.

And you weren't satisfied....so you had another comment.

I can only repeat my initial sentiments...so far.

OK, let me make it clearer for you.

This BS of griping in chat rooms because someone doesn't like the host's decisions is as boorish as it is prevalent. You are a guest of Steve's here. He makes the rules and the decisions. Since you have graciously been allowed into his house, so to speak, while you are entitled to your opinions, it would certainly be nice, as a guest, if you kept them to horse racing ( at least in the racing rooms ). Otherwise, believe it or not, you appear ungrateful.

OK. I agree with that. I guess I've been used to the freedom of a fully "public board." I do prefer to keep the discussions about horse racing as well.. I admit I didn't actually get to read what led to the removal of the other thread.. I can only assume it was justified. That's the end of the "non-horse" discussion from my end.

You didn't miss much.

I'm sure a similar thread will pop up again....probably too soon.

Thanks.

You think I'm out of line when I mention personally witnessing Pletcher shamelessly yell out foul language in front of several of Churchill Down's Derby customers, but I now have 'thin skin' when you choose to take a thread about our differences in horse racing and add personal busts in it such as mentioning my father and our rat La-breds, and deforming me based on probable fabricated information about me that you supposedly heard from mutual acquaintances???

No...I think you were out of line...opinions are to debate, but instead you view things as arguments to be won....you have to remember that nobody is right or wrong here and there are no winners or losers..it is absolutely childish and imaginary to think otherwise...that is why opinions are so great because they are not fact...what don't you grasp about that?

If you don't like my opinions on things then state why you don't believe in them, but don't tell me that I am daddy's little spoiled brat who has a ratty La-bred operation and don't tell me that you found out about me and I'm a bad and horrible person...that is adding a personal element that you have zero business in doing...you have no idea who I am and I have nothing to be ashamed of, hence why I'm not scared to reveal my identity in this forum although this site could only hurt me and not help me professionally..

I am proud of our racing operation just like Sakatoga is proud of their operation...sure I'd love to own Funny Cide and so would've Frankel and Juddmonte..who wouldn't want to own a horse that made seven figures? My job as an analyst is to judge the highest level of racing because that is where the sport's dynamic lies....that has nothing to do with the horses my dad and I can afford...I know they are relatively slow in the big scheme of things...I also know that Funny Cide is slow when talking about the top handicap horses...you have totally misread me...

The best thing that I can probably do is avoid your posts from now on...if that is the only way to keep this negative, counterproductive energy and waste of time to a minimum then so be it....I would hope that we wouldn't have to go to those measures...if you disagree with me then that is fine..chime in with your opinion, but don't attack me...there is nothing worse than a guying acting tough behind a key board...

Have a nice day.

In regards to my taking the threads down, I did not care for the tone or example they set for anyone coming here for the first time. The Private Messenger system can be used for those kinds of personal exchanges. I don't have the patience to remove just the messages I find ill-advised and mean-spirited, so threads will come down instead. There were three whose tones echoed both the above.

I know both parties well, and doubt either really wanted those statements left hanging in the air. Strictly my call, and I hope all Trailers understand the position I have to take... My name is attached to this website; I am a co-host of a daily national horseracing radio show; I am a partner in a business that works with MEC, CDI and NYRA and I am charged with administering a decorum here obliged to meet a minimum standard to which I can answer.. I'm sure everyone can understand that...

Why do we even talk about Funny Cide. The horse is a has been. Great in two races in 2003 and one race in 2004. We are in 2006. We have some great horse racing on the horizon. Declans Moon just had a great work today. Fatest of 30 at the distance. Why are we talking about a low level Grade III horse when we have horses like Flower Alley, Bernardini, Happy Ticket, Lava Man, Dubai Escapade, Lady Of Venice etc etc. It is great to agree to disagree. Remember, it takes a bigger man to decide to bring something that is going nowhere to an end than it does to keep it going.

Anyway......Wait Awhile looked pretty good today.

We are talking about him because we like fact that he wasn't whisked away to stud as soon as he raced 10 times. And we like the fact that he can still compete in graded races 3 years after his burst of excellence.

Those are all fine horses. Is there a restriction on Derby Trail on how many horses we can like or talk about? I may have missed seeing the quota.

Ha! You put up a post sure to inflame Funny Cide fans, and then end it with a plea to not "keep it going". How about being the "bigger man" yourself, and not writing stuff like "The horse is a has been"?!

Sheer hypocrisy.

I saw only the start of the thread. On the one hand, I thought oracle had every right to serve up CR's Funny Cide disparagement in light of FunnyCide's fine weekend win. CR could have ended it by saying "I was wrong about FC never winning another Graded race."

On the other hand, if oracle got into things like "daddy's spoiled brat" and "ratty LA operation", that's a whole different level than arguing about Funny Cide. IMO, a personal attack is a different dimension of bad posting than simply not taking responsibility for a wrong prediction. I'd be pretty pissed, too, if I were CR.

oracle's post at the top of this thread was a very nice gesture. I can understand CR's unwillingness to immediately reciprocate if what CR says was said was actually said.

(after re-reading my last sentence, I can only conclude that either I am a lousy writer or English is a weird language! I can only pity a non-native speaker trying to decipher that.)

Dun -

You ain't lyin'..

My mom is an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher, and she regularly goes on about the ridiculously confusing parts of the language she has to teach. Stuff like "by tomorrow, I will have done this"..

It's amazing that so many people can speak it well.

I read the entire threads and didn't see anything to warrant their removal.
It wasn't like a bad or obscene post was removed, the entire threads were taken down. These threads were as I remember discussions by regular members, not trolls.
