No problem with making predictions. I give the man credit for sticking his neck out. No shame in that at all. More people should do that instead of redboarding about horses after the fact.

No problem with what you are saying, but you missed the point. Agree also that after the fact redboarding is lame ,and unsporting as well . Everyone should get credit for bravery in personal convictions, though some seem to have a self-generated surplus .

It was way past his bedtime ... and Gary made a big mistake sharing his sfogliatella with the horse in the paddock. Those things sit like lead in the stomach for hours.

And ... hey ... I never predicted he'd win this race ... I just said he'd be Horse Of The Year ... so we'll just have to wait and see who's right about that.

NC Tony, I wish you would post more often. And yes, I agree with the part about the redboarding. I'm seeing a lot of it these days and its just being packaged in a non redboard container. You actually have to read the label on the carton to make sure the redboard is in the box but trust me its there.

... I've made dead-on-correct long-range predictions about Smuggler, Bernardini, Songster, Barbaro, Lost In The Fog, and Funny Cide ...

... and my Mayan King prediction is still up for grabs.

I'll stand by that record ... and welcome documentation from others about the results of their long-range predictions.

Redboarders ... however ... can keep their own counsel. Oracle, Randall, and Tony have done a very good job of making that quite clear.

You were dead on about Lost in the Fog? I think not...

This "Fraud" has won the following stakes and is still going:

Arizona Juvinile
Sunshine Millions Dash
Swale Stakes
Bay Shore
Riva Ridge
Carry Back
King's Bishop
Aristides

He has won at 9 race tracks, has has won 10 stakes, he has made a million dollars, he has gotten a 97 beyer or higher in every one of his races, he has gotten a beyer above 110 four times, and he has faced decent compeition (Over 12 of the horses he beat came back to win graded stakes, including a track record and and a world record).

But just because he had one off day in which he had a valid excuse for, you claim you were right about him all along. One race does not make a horse. I would be more impressed if you had said he would be a superstar after watching his debut, like I did.

If you make enough predictions, I am sure some will stick.

Maybe. I went over to your other board and saw you predicted that Barbaro had no chance in the Derby and he won. You stated Funny Cide couldn't win an open graded race anymore and he in fact won one on Saturday, yes it was in Canada and the field was not good, but it was an open graded race. Just as it's too early to throw in the towel on Mayan King it is too early to state the end of Lost in the Fog as well. The only dead on ones I saw are Songster and Bernardini. The others, not so much.

Randall is 100% correct about this. Its sickening to me to watch "analysts?" write long winded essays just flowing with hyperbole after a horse wins a race. You would actually think that these folks predicted by the victories that they are writing about, when in fact, no prediction of any kind was ever offered up.
Takes real guts to make a statement BEFORE a race. More folks should attempt this rather than just waiting for a result and then tearing apart those with the guts to put it on the line before the event has occurred.
