For some reason, I remember hearing similar "Jayson Williams" phone call bits, but never that specific one. This one was both vulgar and viscious, far worse than what he was fired for.

that's for his employer (now former) to decide. that business is dictated by ratings and advertising, they lost the advertising, so they let him go. it's business. had they not pulled out their ads, he'd still be there. it's the $$$$$. nothing else, certainly not a sudden rush of good taste!
