Last year, I didn't toss Bluegrass Cat because of the Blue Grass, but because I thought he hadn't improved from 2 to 3 and I figured that a Private Vow-like performance would have been in store.

I think that Any Given Saturday is going to take his fair share of money, and while I don't love love love him in the top spot, if the price is right I'll cover him with a win bet while using his number liberally in the exotics.

The thing I remember about BC wasn't just the Bluegrass, because that can be forgiven, especially on a weird track like Keeneland. But he also looked terrible in his workouts leading up to the Derby. I was sure he was over the top, and so was just about everyone else.

Actually BC had good workouts leading up the Derby. He lost a shoe in the Tampa Bay Derby, got trounced by SM in the Bluegrass. His works on 4/2 and 4/9 before the Bluegrass were very very good. He only worked once before the Derby on 4/29 and it was a maintenance work. I saw him the entire week last year and he looked good. I had him to win and on bottom of the exacta. But didnt have Barbaro.

I heard the opposite. I heard that he looked like shiat leading up to the derby, but started to look a lot better derby week...
