There's actually a 1st-time starter in there. Amazing how dumb some people are.

Yes it is true. The colt is named Olympic Chief and is trained by Janet Davidson. He is by Chief Seattle and out of a Meadowlake mare.
As for running him in the Arkansas Derby in his debut.......well, insanity is what it is.

Well if there's one trainer who knows how to point her horses to big races and have them ready to fire their best, it's Janet Davidson. I'd put her right up there with Drysdale and Frankel in this area.

I'm saying the same thing, but AFTER the race.

How does one fairly evaluate this race from a speed figures perspective when the fraudulent pace dictates a final time that is worthless?
I've taken the same approach to the Blue Grass results for many years, cross it out and re-evaluate the candidates. I guess that's the right answer here too.

I'm just trying to figure out, Phil, what that great giver of knowledge meant by its initial comments in this thread. Certainly someone so giving wouldn't want to make a snide comment.....I'm sure there was some brilliance behind that post and I am just too stupid to figure it out.

If the hoss actually wins, could it possibly qualify for the Kentucky Derby ?

If he finishes 2nd or better, he will definitely have the earnings.
3rd would be close, depending on defections.

Can you imagine if he somehow got up for third and they went ahead and ran him in the Derby?

That would be nuts... LOL

(It wouldn't surprise me, though.)

And Storm in May surfaces again?!?!

I'm so confused -- for as much as I like this horse -- as to what on Earth they are trying to do with him.

Of course I'll be rooting for him again Saturday, though not wagering a penny.

Hey, crazier things have happened. It won't, he'll finish dead last by 30 lengths... but a TC winner was a maiden when he ran in the Derby

Great. We'll get to hear Terry Wallace say "short stretch of the mile" 11 times...can't wait.

Sometimes he even forgets where the mile finish line is. He's so worried about the horses behind making a big late move that he forgets where the finish line is. He's a Oaklawn fixture.

Probably the more reasonable thing to say would be that all the 6F races are on Friday. About 10 of them.

Wallace in a tux, in Arkansas, saying "short stretch of the mile" is just absolutely pimp....and he'll probably have a couple of those homely chicks in jockey silks that help with the post position draw with him on Saturday... Terry Wallace, I can tell he's a local legend and I've never been there.
