Yea,so similiar to the derby ride.I think the colt probably has some of his half brothers' likes/dislikes,and Mike knew exactly what to do.Let him fall back last..outside on backstretch...saved ground on far turn...and collected them. Exactly what I wanted in his last. Was mid-pack,and stuck inside last time.Middle move and cut the gas line.BLINKS OFF N' SMITH ON(guess that's the deal.)He never actually had even finished 1st before(Spankey did,)but crosses line 1st in the Santa Anita Derby.Wow......LOL 2 YEARS AGO,but the script is so similiar. They are already saying the same things too..LOL..."He was the only one doing anything at all in the stretch."...They thought they were rid Giaco........LOL

you kill me, he has as good a shot as any, he did not get a great setup today they dident go to fast up front and he still closed strongly, he is up and coming im not saying he will win but he has a better shot then some other major names, in my opinion... i cant belive the **** im reading on other posts about this horse, he has as good a shot at any, well bred, should get alot better pace setup, this guy has alot going for him.

You really killed them today PG with your selections.

You might want to consider auditioning for that new handicapping show, "Playing To Win".

LOL...This is too funny.Horse has more speed than Giacomo, but couldn't win using it.I remember him rushing up to go with Tenfold in a maiden sprint on opening day.Flattened badly.Only way he could win was being treated exactly like his half bro.Well,I will assume he won't put in consecutive wins.JUST A GUESS..LOL..hope he does, but highly doubt it.He is acting just too much like the half bro.

well, i haven't said tiago is my derby horse, nor is he a maiden.
shame you can't enjoy a race, and say anything about the winner, without being dressed down. regardless of field strength, tiago is now a gsw-who knows where he goes from here?

He's not my top pick but I can see this horse winning the Derby with right set-up, etc. . . He's gonna be severely underlaid, however, because of the Giacomo comparisons. . .

Giacomo was a MUCH better horse than Tiago going into the Derby---and you aren't going to get 50/1 on Tiago.

Is Tiago even nominated to the Derby? The reason I ask is that in my Equibase "Road to the Triple Crown" email, they do not list him in the SA Derby report, but they do list the 2nd-6th place finishers, as well as Boutrous and Level Red.

I tried to find an online list of the 450 early nom's, but couldn't. (I did find a list of the 10 late nom's, and Tiago isn't among them.)

I predict he will be just like Lava Man,everytime he ships ,he will get his ASS HANDED TO HIM,Just like every California shipper did yesterday.

it's possible...or maybe not.

it's the kentucky derby, we all know anything can happen. it doesn't matter who won what the last six months, or at two...it matters who is getting right at the right time, and can handle the distance, the trip, the track, the crowd.

it's a shame that each race can't be enjoyed for what it is, rather then all these historic races being labelled another prep. the 'best' get to run in may--but winning, or losing, the wood for example, or the bluegrass, doesn't tell you much imo about what'll happen in may!

Dont you evaluate each race as their own, are you actually trying to say california horses dont win their fair share of races when they ship?

Interesting that Ermine could not win in california then wins the apple blossom, did you step down in class?
