Then other people bet on him outside of SoCal which is even more foolish. I thought that after the BCC people would stop doing that, but then you look at all the money people foolishly bet on him in Dubai and you have to scratch your head.
Lava Man is a great horse for any capper that understands his strengths and limitations. Why more people can't figure that out is beyond me.

The Derby Future Pool itself is not a bad bet. I was talking about the people who put down money early in the pool on horses that are going to race before the pool closes. The fact that thousands are bet into the pool under those conditions suggests that the Future Pool can be a good bet for a more rational capper.

At least 6 horses from Pool 3 will be racing while the Pool is in progress. How many thousands will be bet on Street Sense, Great Hunter, Hard Spun, and Curlin before those horses race? That kind of money helps make the Future Pools attractive.
