He had no excuses and hung quite badly. He has run one good race though; awfully impressive in his debut up at the Spa. Ward should try him on the turf. Maybe he'll be a monster there.

Why was he such a short price today? I liked him but he was 3-1 in the ML.

Because people are idiots, thats why. Dr. Rat would have been a good bet at 5/1 or higher.

The ultra-bloodlines horses always seem to get seriously overbet. Aristocrat, Ghostzapper's full brother, is a great example of that as he's a full fledged money burner.

you would think Dr. Mule would run a little better like his mom...she only won a handfull of G1's and his dad wasn't bad either.

I also think Strong Contender is overrated - off of one allowance victory, he's a superstar? I wonder if it's just because he's trained by John Ward. The colt was bad at Keeneland and bad in the Peter Pan.........

That's why I yawn when people tell me about some well bred horse that hasn't run or done much of anything. There were people on the ESPN Board that thought he'd win the BCJ and be a Top 3yo, based on his breeding.

One horse that ran a good 2yo number and has not developed is Superfly, that horse ran a good early Thoro# and I don't know if that effort took him out for good or if it was a bad #.
