UF is in a unique situation where football and basketball can be #1 and #1A for years to come if UF works fast to pay Donovan and give him a proper extension. 2 yourng coaches, coahcing 2 good teams in a a recrutining hot-bed. DONOVAN COULD SERIOUSLY HAVE A DEAN SMITH-like run if he stays at Florida.

So it shouldn't be about footbal always being the #1 sport there. They can both co-exist, and be dominant at both. It looks like Ohio State is also on it's way to doing that (football team in National Championship, bball team in Final 4), so why shouldn't Florida too?

I'm not saying that Florida can't have both. (Hell, they did in 2006.) It's not a matter of dominance either... it's more a matter of being the big fish in a small pond, which he would be if he went to Kentucky. More attention is paid to Kentucky's basketball team than to their football team. It's the exact opposite in Gainesville.
