The 25yr group was kind of in a sweeter spot with regard to marriage....The last 15 years has seen much more carnage in the marriage market. Its easy to stay together when you've reached 20 yrs. Where else are you going to go? But the newer group seems unlikely to make it to the long ones. Just 2 months ago was that article that for the first time in U.S. history there are more single women than married women. Tells you all you need to know.

Nobody fights for marraiges to last anymore Rand. Divorce is viewed as the easy way out.

In your situation, you could've fighted, right? But sometimes it simply isn't going to work.

I did fight...for a year...but sooner or later you realize if the other person isn't will to put in the same effort...you simply walk away.

On a brighter note...Honu and I have been talking and we have come to the ideal situation. She is in Cali...I am in VA. It is the IDEAL 3,000 mile apart marriage. She gets the health benefits from my work and I get the 1 time a month sex when we see each other. I can't see any negative in the situation at all

They chose to stay single after their husband croaked when they could've gone out there and got back on the horse.

i enjoy being married very much, but i know i wouldn't do it again--no way another guy could measure up. wouldn't be fair to him.
besides, i don't think i'd feel up to training another won...

That's fine, but it does prove that once is enough....Kev found that out the hard way....Guiliani is on his 3rd. But he'll learn.

It could be. I'm not cynical on the 3rd one. Just the first one. Don't dive in, and you won't get to a 3rd.

what kills me is when a guy or gal calls dr laura or writes dear abby for advice. 'well, dear, did you know he was like that when you dated'? well, yeah, but.....now they're tired of it, and want things to change. sigh.

well, yeah, he cheated, but that was before we made a commitment. lol
or there's, well he hit me a little, but i said the wrong thing. but now he beats me all the time, what should i do? oh, but they can't LEAVE, who will support them and the kids?? oh yeah, marry a loser--go ahead and bring some kids/victims in to screw up too!

crazy crazy.

Cheaters suck and don't change their colors...Hopefully they end up with Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction.

Tell that to my parents... they were married 25 years when they got divorced in 1998.
