Default My Select Play @ Gulf. Saturday 3/3/07

You might think I am crazy for playing this race. The public appears to know the winner already. What the public sees, and what I know makes some added value to my selection. The horse to beat in the big race is No biz Like Showbiz, take nothing away from this colt that has alot of talent.Horses are not machines, and will not win or run perfect every race. Its appears to me that I have spotted some things that I dont like about this horse. He appears to me as playing around on the racetrack and not really showing that bussiness like feature that I am looking for.He was having trouble switching leads that last race, and the jock did not use his whip at all on him.Why he rushed up to take the lead early concerns me for the race today with all the early pace we have today. At 3-5 or 4-5 its not my type of horse. So if I am wrong here, congrats on your winner @ 4-5 if he is your horse.Lets take a look at my selection on this race.

Scat Daddy @ 5-1 I dont want to see this horse run like he did the last race.I look for one big move late as I see this race breaking down late from all the early speed up front.Do you hear me Velazquez ! Lets remember this horse was off for 3 months, his last sets up for a big race today.Would luv to see NoBiz go and try to play with speed up front today.

Drums Of Thunder @ 15-1 Lookout here, this horse comes off a very nice rest pattern. Not high on the jock, but he has a nice big late run. Will get more help up front today then he did last race. And at this price,it could be a big payday.

Scat Daddy = Win
Drums of Thunder = Win

check my thread on Scat Daddy, and all the crap I got from everyone on here!! CajunGator and you are the only people who agree with me, and think he is ready to run a huge race. Hopefully we can get atleast 8-1, that would be nice!!! The doubters can't doubt when SD crosses that finish line first tomorrow!

The horse was off a 3 month layoff, this is his second start and most will improve off that first race.It appears they used him early last week to tighten him up for the added distance.Early speed is not his game.Did he not beat NoBiz @ Belmont in the Champagn-G1 ???? I think it was one big late charge.AHHH Yes,it was. Ok whatever odds they are at,are better then 3-5 or 4-5.I will book that action all day long.My grandma picks 3-5 shots.Thats why she is broke. Its called no value, and when dealing with 3-year olds its a greater risk.Gl sir

Scat Daddy won't win and Drums of Thunder won't be 15-1. . .

Win- Adore the Gold
Place- NBLS
Show- Drums of Thunder

Dahoss, you never asked me for an answer of why I like Scat Daddy, and Past Post really sumed it up well. Scat Daddys last race was simply a prep, SD was being prepped for this race and the added distance, they used that race to simply work on his speed, and with that race under his belt, I think he is ready to roll, and like Past Post said, what's the value with NoBiz??

Also, I never claimed to be a handicapping expert, I'm 20 years old and have only been in the game for about 3 years now, but I do plan on trying to master handicapping some day, but I'm def. not even close now. I like Scat Daddy for two simple reasons, one because I really do think he will run a huge race (as I obviously have been talking about lately), and two, I just flat out like Scat Daddy, and always have.

I'm no expert, but trainers do have specific races they use for a specific purpose. A prep race, where the trainer is simply using the race to work on the horses speed or endurance. Atleast this is something I read in the book "Picking Winners" when I first got into the horse racing game. I may be way off, and if I am I'm sorry, and if I am, can someone please lead me right or explain to me.

I guess the fact it was NoBiz's first race in about the same time doesn't matter. You are absolutely right, NoBiz at 3-5 is no bet for me. I guess I just have never understood the Scat Daddy thing. Just don't see it, seems overhyped to me. And honestly go watch that Champagne again and tell me who the better horse is after that race. Also the fact that most Pletchers don't need a race off a layoff would be something that concerns me, or that Scat was as flat as could be in the stretch last out, but hey good luck.

Please by all means, dont think that Scat Daddy is my only play here.I have another live bullet in Drums of Thunder. The better horse in the Champage was the winner Scat Daddy. He got the money, thurfore he must of been the better horse that day.The better horse to this day is NoBiz.But what happens if he goes down the drain.Everyday is a new day in everything.I pay my bills by playing the Horses and sports betting, also poker.Been doing this for 32 years now, guess I am just lucky.

When the race is over tomorrow, then we will know who the better horse is, and I believe we will see Scat Daddy in the Winners Circle.

I keep looking at Mach Ride in the BC Handicap. Of course, the drf experts are all over him so the odds will be ****.

Your right in that spot sir,but the better horse must over come them type of things.See,you just pointed out that this horse just may have some issues. He appears to look around and wants to play.We will soon see after today.

Would be no surprise if Nobiz runs less well or blows away the field. At those odds, you can't use him on top. Like Stormello and Drums of Thunder, but the odds on the latter won't be anywhere near 15-1. Would give Adore the Gold a better chance if not for the post. I see it 4/5/3/9

Has anyone read what Tagg has said about Nobiz. He compares him to Barbaro! I respect Tagg and if he thinks this horse is great than I'm expecting big things from him. Don't forget he may also have the best horse on turf in Showing Up. I am expecting a big race from him today! Also I just don't see anything to like about Scat Daddy. Yes he won the Champagne but you could ask the majority of people and they would agree he wasn't the best horse that day! Also like scatty, nobiz is on his second race off a layoff. Do you really think that last time he was at 100%! I cant wait for irish boy to wake up after todays race. Pletchers real horse Circular Quay is at the fairgrounds for a reason, he wants to stay away from Nobiz as long as possible.

This is the type of race where I think CQ could run the field down, but Scat Daddy will stay back and do the same. I expect a very exciting head to head battle between Scat Daddy and Nobiz down the stretch, we will see who has the better final kick!
