I got on the Ticketmaster website the moment they went on sale (Monday at 9AM) and after 45 minutes of fighting with that damn system, finally got through. I hate Ticketmaster.

well since the 80's were the only time I was seeing bands I'd say in no particular order, YES, Rush, Floyd, Van Halen, ELO, Outlaws and although I wasn't a fan and was dragged to the concerts, Bowie and Springsteen. The Police (seen twice) were kind of a disapointment IMO.

Default C'Mon Folks we gotta do better than this...

The concerts of the 80's for me started with "The No Nukes" shows in Madison Square with Bruce and E Street......CSNY,Jackson Browne/Bonnie Rait/Doobies.

The Dead in San Fran.....

Bob Dylan and the Band in Boston Garden

U2 at UMASS at the blue wall the week before Elvis is watching the detectives at the fine art center.

Pink Floyd wishing you were here with the PIG....

Clapton after his own ride on a horse in New York

Allman Bro's play with the Eagles for the American Indian Fondation

Meatloaf is in Paradise in the back of a chevy with Ellen Foley

Elton John before the whole thing went to his head

Paul/Wings Springfield Mass , John in New York, Ringo and the all stars, George and krishna's doing the 3 record box set.

Live Aid 1 sitting in Wembley in the pooring rain.....and paying for the privlege

Some were great, others good and a few actually bad but they all left memories of a youth well spent during a decade of confusion and contentment.
God Bless the 1980's we'll never see drugs like that again....

I've only seen a few 80's bands live (hell I was born in 1980, LOL), but my fave was Journey. (No surprise there, right?)

I saw Survivor in Galveston a few years ago and they put on a good show too.

You could also sell little toy pigs (don't the Brits call the police "pigs?") and maybe composition books, since Sting was a schoolteacher before he gave it up to make music.

Or just sell really overpriced concessions.

I'm sure I'll buy a stupid $40 tshirt and regret it later. I love my Liz Phair one, but they actually sold things in girl sizes at that concert.

While I think about it...I should mention one of the best and certainly oldest rock band going, Golden Earring was formed in 1961 and the guys still are together and play several concerts a week to this day...only two huge hits in the States, Radar Love and Twilight Zone but they are legends in Europe!
