So he was put into the gate too fast...AND they had time to call Stronach and get his personal direction for the decision? No offense to you personally. I just found your post the easiest to use to make my point. People with an agenda will always find some justification. Frank Stronach caused Barbaro to break down. And is a Nazi to boot. None of that is over the top. Not at all. I guess he should count himself lucky he isn't Arab. At least he isn't (so far) being blamed for 9/11. |

the vet at the track said he did look barbaro over. that many at home watching may not have gotten the impression that he did, but that he did check out the horse. i really thought this issue would be put to rest by now. dr richardson himself said the gate had nothing to do with the injury. why is it still being pushed as an issue?

Somehow, Barbaro came into someone's thoughts... Is he trying to take over the NY tracks??? Or am I just too stupid to put that connection together? DUHHH! I'm puzzled. DTS |

just another thread that started out one way, and quickly veered off another trail. go figure.
but saying magna had anything to do with barbaros injury would be like saying gm or ford is responsible when you get a flat tire. now i'll probably get blasted for comparing his injury to a flat.....

actually, i think magna haters just jump on any and every opportunity to blast the company. similar to any and every problem being blamed on the opposing political party from their own...
of course i really can't say that the barbaro discussion is a side track, it is mentioned in the original post of this thread. but i don't see any connection between the two. nor do i think barbaros injury is an indication of magna being an 'evil empire'. it's a business just like any other--one that hopefully will make money for its owners. if it is a bad business, then like any other it will fail.

Seems to me, NYRA has big problems. And CHRB has even bigger ones. Geesh, leave it California to always one-up New York. All the politics...reminds me of something that comes from just under the tail of a horse. Stinks too! DTS |

I commend the CHRB to take the right step and mandate sythetic surfaces for all Cali tracks.
The excercize in getting the bums rush that Barbaro had to endure I think exemplifies the Magna method. The people are obviously trained to hustle any horse that breaks through the gate back into the gate. Safety for the horse in that case is not a priority. i think the Barbaro gate incident speaks volumes about the management and priorities at the Magna tracks.
