It's either what Steve said or that a nomination to the Florida Derby includes the entire series. As of the other day he was expected to run.

BTW is correct. When you nominate for the Florida Derby, you are actually nominated for the "Florida Derby Series" which includes all of the GP 3yr old preps for the Florida Derby.

Right on all accounts.
The nomination list for many of the preps are completely different from who is actually in the race.
Check the nominations for the Bob Lewis Stakes this weekend at Santa Anita.
It shows a completely different group than the horses expected to be entered.

Why don't they include the Florida Derby series nominees together with the nominations to give a complete accounting of the horses ? This method seems incomplete, to say the least. I've not been up on this part of the game, as you can readily tell.
