Agreed 100%. I waited all day for this race. As much as Javier got a picture perfect trip, it didn't look good there for a bit, LOL. I didn't like Einstein either but he was much the best today.

Breaking from that wide post, with a short run into the 1st turn, in a 3 turn-turf race---you kind of knew going in he would likely become a victim to that kind of trip....the top two finishers were drawn in cozy inside stalls.

I'd heard Einstein's trainer say, in interviews, more than once, that they would play the race as it unfolds, and use his speed if the pace gets soft, or try and tuck in a few of them cook.

I'm not so sure that was the best strategy to have going in.

Ummm, while a factor, the short run to the 1st turn did not cost Einstein the race. The jock certainly could've done a little bit better on the other 2 turns and maybe he didn't need to be in such a hurry. Ride like an idiot and still only lose by 3/4 to 2 suckups.

Priceless

Bejarano is not a guy that goes out of his way to try and save ground on the turf course.

Interestingly enough, It hasn't always been that way with him

He went 4 wide in the first turn and was stuck on the outside the rest of the way. Most likly cost him the race and me cashing a ticket.
