I guess I shouldn't have posted that and had some consideration for others that aren't so lucky right now. It is just what I was thinking as I was driving back from getting some Chick Fil A for lunch.

I may just get to meet you guys on FL Derby day! I don't know yet if we are doing the FULL weekend show that weekend and if we are I won't be able to make it, but it is still up in the air. If we aren't doing the horse show, I will be there!

Most of the Generalizations are true.

I'm 25 and from Suburban Minneapolis. I'am single... and it might have something to do that I spend a lot of times at Canterbury on the weekends. But, I don't stay so late that I can't go meet friends for a drink around 10 or so.

To maybe take it in a different direction, at least for me- I'am independent enough where I can spend the $$$ on gambling right now. No wife and kids to direct my $$$ towards. One day hopefully I'll meet a nice woman (or a Cajun Gator) that will be worth my time and $$$, so I'm not at the track. I of course plan on having my priorities in order in terms of expenses once I have a stable family life, but my wife will have to be comfy with me goin to the track when time and $$$ can spare it haha.

I guess I'm just average:

1. White

2. Graduate degree

3. I was 15 my first time (1981 Haskell at Monmouth)

4. New Jersey

5. 41

6. Never been to another board. Checked this one out to find Byk's Picks after listening to ATRAB.

7. Bet +/- $ 20 per race although this is increasing as I play more Pick 3s & 4s after reading Exotic Betting & having some success.

8. Not applicable as I'm over 40. But I am married and have a 5 yo son (He's already been to Monmouth, Saratoga, Aqueduct, Belmont and Tampa Bay Downs) My wife had never been to the track before she met me. He first trip to the track was Smoke Glacken's Sapling at Monmouth. She now picks winners simply by looking at the horses in the paddock and has had a fair amount of success usually better in sprints.

ok, i'll play....

white.
high school diploma.
no one in my family interested in racing. have loved horses for as long as i can remember, and i guess that combined with a sheer competitive spirit made me a natural horse racing fan.
grew up in maryland, moved to arkansas about 12 years ago.
on the cusp of 40 (ouch).
started posting on the espn board back when war emblem won the derby.
not much of a bettor-no opportunity from home. don't make it to the track much either, certainly not as much as i would like.
happily married for 21 years. tony enjoys going to the track-or maybe he just enjoys me enjoying going to the track! he's taking me to arlington this year, sweet!
