Horses that are loosed reigned around the turn don't generally get prematurely tired.

In most cases, the later a horse moves against the pace setter, the higher the likelihood of winning the race.

The horse pulled even with LT midstretch and PUNKED OUT; even while being hammered to the wire. To that point, he hadn't really been asked.

If a jock puts your horse in a position to win, against an oponent that's done all the work, late in the race, what's there to beef about?

There are excuses that matter and there are excuse that (some) horseplayers think matter. When it came time to get down and dirty, PTT didn't.

P.S. If I need to count on my jock to PIN the competition on the rail for me to win the race, I really better look elsewhere for recreation.
