Might keep the ball out of there but might also reduce traction depending on how much area the pad covered kinda like bar shoes on turf. Now the 'cappers will watch out for "polyshoes". I always check the shoes in the paddock.
They need to fix the track instead of coming up with Band-Aids for a gunshot wound.
