We have in fact had ice ages end multiple times long before the industrial revolution so your statement that the earth has warmed and cooled many, many times before the industrial revolution is correct. The argument that how much humans are contributing to the current warming is pretty much unsolvable anad unfortunately will just be turned into another politcal issue. And I do remember well the 70s after the multiple frigid winters in the eastern half of the nation that the talk was indeed we were headed toward another ice age perhaps. Because there are occurrences of CO2 levels going up in the past, makes it really tough to determine now what really is going on.
