Frankly, I am skeptical about him winning anything from here on out, as his turf stakes win at Gulfstream was the result of loafing on the lead in an absurdly slow pace. His fourth to English Channel and Cacique at Churchill was decent but the layoff and subsequent so-so return have me highly dubious of his future chances. I know he had some traffic that day but I was not impressed at all with his race.
aux contraire mon ami ! I think the pump is primed and I will be supporting him in his next outing. I was paddocking his last race and it seemed to me the trainer gave the jock some very specific late directions. We will see who shows up besides Jazil for the race, but at the 1 3/16 distance, the race should play a bit fairer than the 1 1/8 distance has historically. I've got my finish line seat and look forward to the race.
