Lets not speak of May Night, got ZERO trip last night and ran an unbelievable 4th or 5th, and would have won the race with a hole, Gomez had the most horse I have ever seen a single jockey have in that race on the final turn.....She was in front by 4 lengths about 8 jumps after the wire.....

I respect Andy Beyer but this story is almost implausable. There are so many gaps in the story....they learned to put over 1 st timers in Puerto Rico and Ocala? How does one trainer train for another under a stable name? Etc....

Just another reason why Andy Beyer is God.

:::runs away from all the Beyer haters:::

Seriously though, I love when he calls up these unknown owners to get to the bottom of the things. Dude is a good kind of paranoid.

Excellent read, thanks for posting it.

Filthy damn unraced-maiden races. The absolute sewer portion of the sport.

Manning pulled one of these a few years ago. Not 30-1, but I remember something like this....Maybe it was the same year Gil had trainers sawing horses legs off.

That was that Grand horse that won the Pennsylvania Derby and was sold to Godolphin.

Not very hard to put one over when your training at Classic Mile in Ocala when there is no clocker. You put what you want for the workouts. I believe Grand Hombre had 4 works of a half mile. Each slower than 52..lol..I myself would have put some obscure jockey on(not Prado) I believe he went 1:08 and change, so any jock would have done fine that day...

Grande Hombre....won his debut at GP by 4 lengths, at 14/1 odds for Manning--in very fast time....just about everything behind him came back to win their next start.

For a trivia, name the 4th place finisher in that MSW race?

Hint: he reeled off 5 straight wins, including the Dwyer and Jim Dandy after that maiden loss
