we took, and still take, our kids everywhere. of course they're teens now-but i never had a problem with them. they sat at the restaurant--no running laps. and for crying out loud, no blankies!

but when you take a youngster to dinner, you have to be ready to go when they're done eating. if you want to sit and chat over cocktails for an hour after, call a sitter.
Ok I had a blanky but I only took it out of the house to go to Grams or when we went on vacation( 3 weeks is a longtime without one's blanky ).
I can remember as a child seeing other kids throwing fits when we were out at the store or whatever and I remember thinking " what is wrong with these children" and why do their parents let them do that .
My parents raised 3 boys and then I came along and I will say my brothers were hellions but they never were out of line in a public setting while we were with my parents. We went to resturants and the movies( which I hated as a kid because all the other children talked while the movie was playing) and zoo's and museums and we all behaived like we were supposed to.
I see alot of children today that are way to spolied , watching as much tv as they want , getting name brand shoes( i got my first pair of ponys when I was 12 I saved my allowance all summer so I could get them) and clothes without ever knowing what working for something is.
I will admit , I dont have children , but if I did my child would know right from wrong and how to act and if they got out of line they would know that there was going to be some punishment involved. When I do have kids there will be not much tv and almost no computer use , they will act like they have some manners or they wont leave the house , and by god when say do something they better jump and not give me any lip or their ass is going to be sore .

lol about the blankies. kids have blankies, but friends of my parents let their kids take them everywhere. i am not exaggerating. everywhere. those things looked like rags after a while.

i like kids. good ones. nothing sets my teeth on edge more than a bad behaved kid--and it's their parents fault! kids will learn whatever you teach them, good routine or bad--just like i can't stand racist or bigoted kids. it's all learned. way to go mom and dad if you raise them that way! and whiners drive me mad....
