My dad wrote this in honor of Barbaro...

Say a prayer for Barbaro,
that grand and noble steed.
I long to see him in the fields,
crossing them with speed.

The greatest challenge of his life,
was never on the track.
Cut down by vicious injury,
'twas the way that he fought back.

Barbaro, sweet Barbaro,
your spirit does survive.
I bless you every day now,
for the way you enriched our lives.

Rest in peace courageous colt,
you gave it your best try.
Know that those you left behind,
will never let you die.
