John Mcenroe said Roger is the best he has ever seen. While he did not compete against Federer on the tour, Mcenroe has played against Roger in some exhibitions.

Fed is so easy to root for. Seems like a great guy off the court as well. On the court I dont think I have ever question one single call.

He'll sweep the slams this year.

Saw the highlights this morning it was a thrashing, Roddick won exactly 6 points in the second set while being shut out, Federer just too much, kind of reminds me when Borg was beating everyone in sight easily.

At his best,Safin beat both Federer and Sampras(to win this tournament ,and the U.S. Open.)Will this guy ever see that form again,or is that it? What a waste of talent.

Its an embarassment that he got taken down by Roddick in this tournament, yet he beats Federer and Sampras. Go figure that one out. Hes a headcase.

Safin could play the best tennis of his life and it still wouldn't be enough to beat Federer. Federer's game has improved tremendously since 2005.

I would have to agree with you there Pillow Pants. Some of the shots I saw him hit last night and in previous matches lately have been out of this world. I never thought a guy that good could get better, but he apparently has.

A grand slam run is upon us. Witness greatness.

As a side note, I also agree with Scuds on the talent that Marat Safin has. I saw him once in Saratoga, he was having a beer in a outside restaurant and I was running by. Hes a very huge guy. It was just before the US Open 2 years ago.

Nobody(except Safin) was able to hang with Federer at the Aussie in 2005.Federer easily beat Safin at the Aussie Open in 2004.Sometimes Safin is too good. When he serves well etc.,etc.(every 5 years.)Don't kid yourself,if he is really on,nobody can beat Safin. If he gets hungry again,he will get another slam. Most likely, one of the 2 he has won already.
