I hate Hollywood Park from a betting standpoint, but I enjoy going there when I get out west.

Biggest pick 4 I have ever hit was one that paid $600 for $2, which I had $10 straight on. The horses:

Stay, John Terranova 7/1
Nothing Flat, Nick Zito 4/1
Some sprinter trained by Wesley Ward, forgot his name 3/5
Take Charge Lady, Ken Mcpeek 6/5

"I hate Hollywood Park from a betting standpoint"

I hear that from allot of people. Why? Is it the short fields as some would point out (but not lately).

I do very well at Hollywood however I've been playing there since they started simalcasting. I first starting going to the races in the San Francisco bay area at GG and bay Meadows but as soon as they started simalcasting I started playing So. Cal tracks. I guess since I've been playing there for 15 years I'm comforable with the trainers, owners, jocks, track bias, ECT. For me I have a hard time with Belmont. I always blame it on those damn NY Breds!

BTW- Nice hit on that 10 dollar strait pick 4. I played a 15 dollar pick 4 on the early pick 4 on Sunday. I looked at those races and it was chalk in 3 out of 4. In the other race it was a 6 horse field going a mile and a half on the turf. I only liked 2 horses so I put them both in and the 5-1 shot beat the even money shot. The Pick 4 paid a monster 39 bucks but I had it 15 times on a 30 dollar ticket. That was about the only thing I hit this weekend.

I usually post a ticket for each pick 4 (early and late) Friday nights card at Hollywood although this weeks bombed! You can't win them all.

BTW- Alysheba is one of my Favorite horses!! He was probably the horse that got me hooked on this sport.

Well,I had hoped somebody had written about this, but it ain't gunna happen. This $3300 p4 that Stevens hit is way to low a payoff. In the last race, that 10 got pounded in the p4. They left the p3,double,and win pools alone(they paid what they normally would for an 18-1 horse in that 9th race.)The p4 got played so hard with that 10,that it paid as if the 10 horse was a 9-1 shot.)The pool was about 480k.For this combo,12-1,even,9-1,and 18-1 there would normally be about 60 tickets (each paying about $6500/1,)but in this case there was roughly double that many winning tickets(each paying $3300/1.)I think that somebody bet 15-20k in the p4 (singling the 10 horse .)As you can see,the favorite exploded from the gate, and was well ridden by a fantastic speed jockey(Garcia,)but this 10 horse ran him down(not a lucky win....a very well meant horse.)

By the payout, that couldn't have been at a NYRA track... if it was, the payout would have been $300 for $2! Anyone else ever notice that? I love playing P-4's, but they always seem to pay lower than you'd think at NYRA tracks.

It absolutely was at a NYRA track. It was 3 summers ago at Belmont.

Really!? I'm surprised based on the payout.. and when and where did Take Charge Lady run at a NYRA track? I can't remember her racing up here.
