What's interesting, and what makes your point stronger, is how successful Kimmel was ten plus years ago with cheap horses he bought to crank up and sell. When he started getting more expensive horses, say when Waxman was his client, he really became disappointing.

They killed that guy, other than that one Storm Cat filly (her name escapes me at the moment) every horse they bought for that guy was an expensive disaster worse than the last. Very scary, that started a consistent pattern of that.
