Awful weather... and hope the Deuce coughs it up because he will be the best runningback on the field. In fact, McCallister is the best runningback left in the playoffs.

i dont think cold weather would actually affect brees that much, he played college ball@nearby purdue after all. best back left in the playoffs isnt a starter...YET, benson

Benson? The big waste of a draft pick from my alma matre. Cant block worth a damn, slow, cant catch... just a bull. They are a dime a dozen. Holy Cow playa.
I will never forget Mel Kuiper saying Benson would go first in the draft after the Texas-Michigan game, I seriously almost had a heart attack. He ran behind the best line in college football. I could have made 1000 yards behind the line he had.

Playa he is just not fast enough. 4.1 yards is decent for any part time back. Both Dallas running backs averaged more than that this season behind a highly suspect offensive line.

If he learns how to block and catch the ball he will be declared decent. He was a monster in high school, super quick at 205 or so. I believe as he got bigger he lost quickness. He got very lucky to play behind such good offensive lines.

Bottom line for me: When Chicago lost Harris, Urlacher became less potent and their defense totally changed. Any time you have a defensive tackle that demands two offensive lineman on every play, and then you have a line backer as great as Urlacher and an aggressive, hard hitting secondary, you have a monster defense. Its gone imo. Have you ever seen Urlacher get so totally blown out of a play by a very mediocre Seahawk line from about 7 or so yards out from the goaline? When I saw that one play and how Urlacher was not allowed to roam it became very clear.

And the dome is his home. He played High School football at Austin Westlake and beat the school I taught at twice in the playoffs. He is a Texas QB. San Diego and now New Orleans were launching pads. Purdue gave him the chance to throw the ball with their offense and great set of wideouts while he was there. But there is no doubt he wants nice weather. The Saints want nice weather.

Dial up 33 degrees, wind 5-7 mph and dry and the Saints roll. If their offense is allowed to stay on the field, they will wear Chicago out. And that will happen in good weather. If you got slop or sleet with bad footing and the teams trade punts back and forth, Chi moves on. More chance to score on a punt return, the major offensive weapon of the team sad to say.

Grossman has small hands and it was always harder for him to throw the ball in the wet weather at Florida. We shall see how he does next weekend... my money is on Drew Brees.
