Day 37

Best bet: Race 1- #9 Vesture
Either going to be way right or way wrong with this one. I’ve really liked the way this home bred has looked in his morning works. He looks strong and he hasn’t been asked for anything indicating there s a lot more in the tank. He’s easily put away his stablemate Tammy Lynn who debuts tomorrow and that one worked a good 10 flat in Ocala in March. Vesture’s dam broke her maiden going 5 1/2 on turf here and Al Stall can win with he on debut.

Longshot- Race 4- #7 Lost Ark
I’m not going to go crazy trying to beat Carl Spackler, who is very good. But Carl does come back relatively quick and maybe if he’s not 100% he can be beat. I’ve liked the way Lost Ark has looked working with stablemates Wit and Far Bridge. He’s looked like he is handling turf well and seems to really be extending when he gets going late. Maybe he gets lucky and can get up late

Vesture got bet down to 6/5 somehow, attended a fast pace, looked like a drunken sailor down the lane and was off the board. Tried to get cute trying to beat Carl Spackler. Bad opinion

Bright Future gutted out a nice win paying $9.50 and $4.50. The Danzigwiththestars race was a funny one. Two need the lead types were rated and speed went 1-2 around the track.

Scalable ran like he needed one. Bossmakinbossmoves ran a good 3rd at 21-1 but was no match for top two.

Valentine Candy was awful and Sals Dream Girl was asked for run early and attended fast pace and I figured would be coming off the pace. Closers ran 1-2

Meet totals
$320 wagered
$219 returned

Definitely not the kind of meet was hoping for. Weather made it very difficult. I’m someone that focuses a lot on turf racing and losing so many turf races was tough. I never got a feel for races out of the Wilson chute. My hope is that NYRA will not run so many races out of it going forward. All in all, my handicapping wasn’t good. I never got any momentum going and I think when you hit a few good races you start to see things better. Never had that. Saratoga is Saratoga. Will always be the absolute best to me.

I enjoyed seeing you put up your picks everyday. It takes some balls to put your opinions out there everyday. I don't know how guys like Serling do it all year. I myself had a losing meet but will be back at it at the Big A. Good Luck! KP
