There is no question in my mind that the number of stakes races at Churchill, each of which seem to be a prep for a companion race on Stephen Foster Day, would make that the best venue for our Saturday contest. Some of the fields are on the smaller side, but you can't have everything.
I have been holding off declaring a venue since I understand that HISA reviews of the recent number of equine fatalities at CD is continuing into today. The reports I have read suggest that the likelihood of suspending racing seems to be remote unless deficiencies in the racing surface are disclosed. Still, I didn't want to announce a venue only to have to change it after all of you have started your work. My plan is to wait until close to first post at CD today (which will be a 5:00 Eastern) to post our venue. If they decide that the surface is safe enough for racing today, I'm fairly confident that they will feel the same way for Saturday. At present, I'm leaning very strongly toward some postion of the CD card. Just wanted to let those who like to get an early start know the reason for my slowness.

After today's session, Churchill has introduced certain additional protocols that seem to have the effect of closer scrutiny on entries of horses with poor records, but they are continuing with racing. I'm going to keep my fingers and toes crossed and declare CD as our Saturday venue.
