Am I correct in assuming the ridiculous decision by three tracks to allow George Iacovacci, Sr. to bring a horse in that shape to run again wouldn't be allowed now or is that naive? Earle Mack fought for him, and I think we're all glad he did. At least he got to spend the rest of his days with Michael Blowen. I don't get how there weren't legal prohibitions to returning him to the races if that was part of the agreement when the farm got him. Mack tried to get people like Maggi Moss involved, but all three tracks denied it. Why no injunction from the very first attempt to race? Why did Parx, Mountaineer, and Mt Pleasant need that particular warm body with four hooves running at them? I can't tell if Iocavacci, Sr is out of the business or deceased but Equibase has nothing for owner or trainer since 2019. Good riddance. |
