I am perfectly happy were I am. Of course I would turn them down. Why would I want to go? Money... not. Prestige, I am too old for that, prestige is for the insecure. I am valued were I am, what more could I want.

So Saban will be making about the same amount of money. He will be doing what he says he likes to do, teach kids, which I respect a great deal.

BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WHEN YOU ARE ASKED IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ALABAMA, TWO SIMPLE WORDS COME TO MIND: NO COMMENT

Or is that too hard coach? time to make up his mind, he is a liar... its simple.

BTW I suggest you look up coach Frans record against UT.

Oh, so he is not the first coach to lie... so that justifies the lie. Wonderful.

saban ditched mich st for lsu, didn't even stay to coach them in the bowl game they got to that year.
then he ditched lsu before his time was up.
now he ditched the dolphins.
when he does the same to 'bama, no one can really be surprised.
as holtz said, no one more popular than a new coach.
saban is a winner. he's also a liar and a quitter. i am not going to be alabamas coach. that's what he said. i'm committed to the dolphins.

yeah, sure nick. i'm more ticked at myself for believing him than i am at him at this point.

he'll win, he'll be a hero. but when he leaves before the eight years, i hope no one acts surprised.

when houston nutt was asked if he was interested in miami he said i am with arkansas, and RIGHT NOW (my caps) that is what i am focused on. he used the phrase 'right now' twice. left him an out. he didn't get offended at the questions. he answered them.
saban acted like he was SO offended the ?'s continued. gave the reporters heck.

you know, it's funny when you look things over. tuberville/auburn fans were offended when they started looking for his replacement. yet he walked out on miss after saying they would have to carry him out in a pine box. it's how it's done i guess.

"no comment" can be substituted with "I changed my mind"

This has all gone too far... Saban is a liar. That's all I cared about on this thread. As for everything else, WOW. Congrats to Bama on getting a head coach... he's a good one, but you can't trust him.

Unless you've followed Saban the past several years, you don't know what you're talking about. He is a LIAR. When he does the same thing to your team, talk to me about it then. He owed LSU more respect than what he gave them and he owed the Dolphins more respect than what he gave them, too. Spurrier had a similar situation and he dealt with it in the CORRECT manner. Regardless, Saban is an excellent college ball coach and I only hope that for $32 million, he lives up to Alabama's expectations. I expect a mini riot when they introduce him to everyone at the LSU/Bama basketball game. Poor timing on that? UM YEAH.

are you serious? they're choosing that game, of all games, to introduce him? bad form.

Yep, quite ridiculous. Believe me, it's just a bit too coincidental that they're doing it then. It just "happened" to be their next home game. Bullshiat... they're trying to rub it in LSU's face. (Like LSU fans needed more ammo.)

oh well...it's all good.
les miles sadly still a bit in the shadows. but he's got two 11-2 seasons in a row under his belt, with a peach and sugar bowl win. life is good.

okay, as a previous debater in this thread (like 8 pages ago) I have to chime back in just because. Everything that you had a problem with when RR turned down the job you're supporting with Saban's actions. Don't know if you caught the commentary during the NFL games yesterday but they hammered Saban for the way he left Miami. He lied to everyone the entire time, he turned his back on the person that gave him everything he wanted/needed, and if I understand this right they are going to introduce him to fans at the LSU basketball game!!! If this guy had one bit of class at all he would tell the AD that perhaps there might be a better time. But I guess if he had any class at all he would be deciding on draft picks or even out recruiting for LSU.

Last I heard Saban was going to be out of town at a football conference this week. But if he's introduced at the first home game since he was hired I see nothing wrong with it. Seems like the right thing to do.

If it hurts LSU fans' feelings...well...

I totally understand his introduction and I don't that Alabama is to fault for that. I'm simply saying that Saban could stop some of the bleeding in the press if he would take the high road.
