Well actually who knows or what. It's twitter.

To set the record straight I heard him call a couple last week and thought he sounded very good.

I was being genuine when asking who he was.

I had completely forgotten and wanted to give him props.

I have THE WORST long term memory. And I know other announcers who are the same.

True story.

Many years ago a Dr. told me that since I memorize and forget 10 horse fields ten times a day every 30 minutes. It cultivates a hyper acute short term memory.

However, the down side of that is it messes up my long term memory. He was 100% correct. That's the way it's played out.

My wife doesn't appreciate it much when we reminisce.

But it makes it fun to re-watch movies and re-read books.

Anyway, I think Nick is excellent and getting better everyday.

He's on his way to becoming an elite race caller.
Nick who? Tammaro? Meh nobody likes him anyway. He does seem to be able to remember the names of the horses during the race which is a plus if you call races. He sounds like another Stone wannabe to me

I think lots of people like him.

I know I do. I really liked the calls I heard the other day.

And what's wrong with being a Stone wannabe?

IMO Travis is one of the very best in the business.

Consistently solid, accurate, entertaining calls and on the BIGGEST stage.

Whatever they(CD) pay him is WAY too much, he sucks should have kept his day job if he even had one

Didn’t he used to be the morning line maker for NYRA , who replaced the best one that ever lived ? He calls a good race. I’m surprised the Big A wasn’t named full time announcer at the Big A by the little A

Travis was calling Monmouth I think.

Larry had just been hired by CD.

Not long after Larry was hired by NYRA.

Boy I thought I had that job. Chris Kay and Bobby Flay had never heard of me and Larry had just made the "wives" call.

Anyway, Larry went to NYRA and Travis was hired at CD.

Both elite announcers IMO.

Well that's the thing about announcers.

Very subjective. No right or wrong. Just opinion.

I remember when I used to live and die when reading whether people liked my work or not.

I was cured from that in 1994.

Back in the day the DRF had letters to the editor.

When Tom Durkin was hired at Gulfstream to replace Ross Morton (RIP). A guy wrote a scathing letter saying how could GP hire a hack like Durkin over the greatest announcer ever? Ross.

And he was very passionate!!

No knock on Ross he was a good friend and did a fine job. But Durkin!!

IMO the best that ever lived and it's not even close.

Right then and there I was cured from worrying about what people said.

Some are going to like you. Some not.

Some people like Frank Sinatra. Other's think he sucks and Prince was the greatest ever.

Funny thread.
One prominent, successful race caller defending two other prominent, successful race callers from a bunch of anonymous cat callers typing away in their mommy's basements one handed.

You can't script this stuff!

Btw, congrats on your best bet Saturday at OP, as mentioned on TVG.
Great day of racing.
