Default ROI Results 3/5 @ Gulfstream

At least one player discovered the Fountain of Youth and singled the winner. It looked like
a dark and dismal scoring day until Cal kept our winners streak alive and was the only
player to garner some ROI points. Since Bob Baffert didn't show up for our contest it is
a moot point as to whether any points would have been awarded to him. Eclipse at least
visited the cashiers window twice but couldn't turn a profit. And now for Cal. In the 10th he
cashed a trifecta but it didn't put him in the black. Then he played a pick 3 and hit on
Speaker's Corner. In the 11th he played Temple and got a double digit return. That left
the 12th race and he singled Simplification. When he cleared the finish line easily in front
Cal had the win and a nice profit of $261.50 on the day. The Pick 3 paid $42.25 for each
50 cents bet and I thought that was pretty sweet for two favorites and a second choice.
Congrats on the win Cal. Nicely played and thanks for giving me something to write about.
Had you not won I would have had to lead with NJ Stinks trying to trick me. Following

I don't think Ponce De Leon ever made it this far west. Reportedly, the Conquistador that came through these parts was called Hernando DeSoto. I don't think he was looking for the mythical Fountain of Youth and he didn't find much of the thing he was looking for, gold, either. If only he'd known that a bit west of here is America's only Diamond mine. Unfortunately, I didn't find a lot of gold either on Saturday and the Sweet Bird of Youth has definitely flown away for me, but one of these days maybe I'll find the mother lode. I keep trying and hope springs eternal. I've been thinking for awhile maybe I should play more horizontal plays and apparently I was right in my thinking as the only plays I've made this year that were worth playing were a couple of Pick 3s. Anyway, thanks for the nice write-up RQ.

Thanks Don. Can’t let RQ’s abacus fall in disuse.
