Default Venue Choices Jan. 8th

After a holiday break it's time to talk horse racing again. The pickings are slim on Saturday with Gulfstream, Oaklawn and Santa Anita in the mix. Aqueduct and Turfway have minor stakes. Any input is welcome once entries are drawn and if there is a venue I missed please bring it up. I will not play Delta.

I would say Oaklawn is my preference, but you guys would probably take my Derby Trail membership away or send me a virus for my computer. I guess Santa Anita or Gulfstream, if we want to have at least one Graded Stakes. Of course, those races might come up a bit shy of entrants as they often do, especially Santa Anita.

Cal, I don't think that you need to worry about either of those acts of retribution for preferring Oaklawn. Even when they don't have a stakes filled card, the quality of the races is always very good and the fields are usually full. I also find Oaklawn a tough track to handicap - very few free squares on the card.

Let's go with the Oaklawn full card on Saturday. Can Don or Joly post it.
