I played a number of the Fair Grounds races yesterday in a Twin Spires competition and it seemed just as tough a place for me to find winners. [Or perhaps it was just a matter of my slipshod handicapping?]

It was a tough card for sure, but I can't imagine that a bunch of Loozeeanna breds would have been all that different. I think our winners homed in on the one stakes race and kudos to them. I think most of us made that race a bit more difficult than it should have been. I always surprise myself by playing a race differently in the two contests. I actually had the tri in the feature race in the points contest, but then when I handicapped the ROI my brain turned to mush and I used different horses. Can't blame anyone but myself for not having that race. Obviously, should have gone with my first impression.
