The thing I honestly don't get is who the heck they honestly think they are fooling.

I'm pretty sure the Kentucky breeding "elite" have become trapped in their own little isolated world predicated on lies and bullsh!t because they've gotten away with it for so long. They treat the actual races as mere fodder for their disingenuous spin and hyperbole. The sad thing is none of them (or their crony minion "advisors" and "bloodstock agents", i.e. hangers on) know the first thing about the racing side of things and they presume the wagering public and fans are just as ignorant.

Meanwhile, I'm waiting for the next installment from this bunch in the shape of Flightline. I hope he makes it to the Malibu. I'm not sure what's gonna produce the better press release, him bombing in the Malibu and being retired immediately or him winning the Malibu but failing to win another race of consequence (the usual pattern w/ Sadler's top horses) before they have to pull the plug.

At any rate, I hope Following Sea doesn't run or at least doesn't win, because then he will have won a Grade 1 race and Spendthrift probably won't bother to run him as a 4yo, especially since he failed to stretch out (when poorly spotted in the Haskell). Then again, with Pletcher at the helm, there can't be too high of expectations for a successful 4yo campaign (at least beyond the Gulfstream meet).

Fine work as always.

Speaking of Pletcher…interesting his two best horses right now are former Baffert’s and he only has them because of what happened in the Derby.

He also had the Hollywood Gold Cup winner Country Grammer from Baffert but that one only recorded a couple of works in NY before going on the shelf. Not sure if he's coming back.

I doubt we will see much more of Life is Good unless they take a shot in the Pegasus World Cup (which I suppose could parlay into a Saudi Cup start, too, if he does well). But hey, he already beat Ginobilli and Restrainedvengence so not much more for him to do and he was the early favorite for the Kentucky Derby (which apparently is just as good as actually winning the Derby in the eyes of the stallion promoters).

The Kentucky breeding charlatans are really going to have to make a tough decision regarding Mandaloun. Will they keep him in training long enough for him to be declared the Kentucky Derby winner thus ensuring they can proclaim it on the retirement press release? He might have to race until he's a 7yo...

Life is Good is currently being pointed to the Pegasus. Knicks Go is also pretending to point there but I highly doubt he goes if Life is Good does.
