Nicole Russo | Nov 03, 2021 Following are horses to watch during the Keeneland November breeding stock sale’s Book 1 portion, which makes up the sale’s opening session on Wednesday, Nov. 10. Horses were selected based primarily on their own racing and/or production records, and their pedigrees, including, in the case of broodmares and broodmare prospects, production results of notable family members. The selections reflect catalog updates and sale supplements or outs through Oct. 28. Hip No. 10, Rushin No Blushin (in foal to Complexity), mare by Half Ours – Blushing Ogygian, by Ogygian. Consigned by Paramount Sales, agent. Rushin No Blushin, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Street Boss and multiple graded stakes producer Habiboo, is the dam of Jack Christopher, winner of the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes and one of the favorites for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. Hip No. 13, Satin and Silk (in foal to Justify), mare by Galileo – Wildwood Flower, by Langfuhr. Consigned by Eaton Sales, agent. This is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Materiality and Grade 2 winner My Miss Sophia, the dam of Breeders’ Cup-bound graded stakes winner Annapolis. Satin and Silk, carrying her first foal, also is from the family of Grade 1 winners Afleet Express and Embellish the Lace. Hip No. 41, Tepin Thru Life (in foal to American Pharoah), mare by Curlin – Tepin, by Bernstein. Consigned by Paramount Sales, agent. This unraced mare, carrying her first foal, is the first foal out of two-time champion turf mare Tepin, herself a half–sister to millionaire Vyjack. Hip No. 51, Vanquished (in foal to Into Mischief), mare by Empire Maker – Critical Crew, by Dr. Blum. Consigned by Eaton Sales, agent. Vanquished, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Critical Eye, is the dam of Grade 2 winner Takeover Target and stakes winner Ladies’ Privilege, both by Harlan’s Holiday. She is now in foal to leading sire Into Mischief, a son of Harlan’s Holiday. Hip No. 54, weanling colt by Justify – Victory Party, by Yankee Victor. Consigned by Eaton Sales, agent. Victory Party, the dam of Group 2-placed Victory Kingdom, is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner and leading sire Into Mischief, four-time Eclipse Award champion Beholder, and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf winner Mendelssohn. The latter is by Scat Daddy, the sire of Triple Crown winner Justify. Victory Kingdom, in foal to Constitution, is on offer later in the sale as Hip No. 196. Hip No. 79, Bourbonesque (in foal to Quality Road), mare by Dynaformer – Rhineland, by Mr. Prospector. Consigned by Claiborne Farm, agent. Bourbonesque, whose second dam is prominent producer Versailles Treaty, is the dam of Grade 1 winner Mongolian Groom. Her weanling colt by War Front follows her through the ring. Hip No. 90, C. S. Royce (in foal to Authentic), mare by Unbridled’s Song – Sweeping Story, by End Sweep. Consigned by Eaton Sales, agent. C. S. Royce is already the dam of Grade 3 winner Sweeping Paddy, Preakness Stakes runner-up Cherry Wind, and stakes winner C. S. Incharge. She sells carrying a foal from the first crop of Horse of the Year Authentic, who is by sire of sires Into Mischief. Hip No. 93, Daisy Mason (in foal to Not This Time), mare by Orientate – Leslie’s Lady, by Tricky Creek. Consigned by Airdrie Stud. This is a daughter of Broodmare of the Year Leslie’s Lady, dam of four-time champion Beholder, Grade 1 winner and leading sire Into Mischief, and Grade 1 winner Mendelssohn. Daisy Mason is already a solid producer herself, producing Grade 3-placed stakes winner Harry’s Holiday and Grade 3-placed Remedy. Hip No. 124, weanling colt by Into Mischief – Halo Humor, by Distorted Humor. Consigned by Bedouin Bloodstock, agent. This is a full brother to multiple Grade 1 winner Practical Joke, who is among the leading freshman sires of this season. Hip No. 175, Achalaya (in foal to Authentic), mare by Bellamy Road – Wild Heart Dancing, by Farma Way. Consigned by Gainesway, agent. Achalaya’s first foal is Grade 1 winner Casa Creed, who is likely bound for the Breeders’ Cup. She later produced Grade 3 winner Chess’s Dream, and is now in foal to first-season stallion Authentic, the 2020 Horse of the Year. Her Omaha Beach colt follows her through the ring. Hip No. 187, Oleksandra (in foal to Into Mischief), mare by Animal Kingdom – Alexandra Rose, by Caesour. Consigned by Bluewater Sales, agent. Grade 1 winner Oleksandra, from a prolific Australian family, sells carrying her first foal, to the cover of a leading sire. Hip No. 198, Nereid (in foal to Tapit), mare by Rock Hard Ten – Dowry, by Belong to Me. Consigned by Hunter Valley Farm. Grade 1 winner Nereid, a half-sister to Grade 1-placed stakes winner Sea Queen, is the dam of Grade 3-placed stakes winner Figarella’s Queen. Nereid has made one other trip through the Keeneland November ring, selling for $1.25 million to Hunter Valley in 2019. Hip No. 200, Horologist, mare by Gemologist – Cinderella Time, by Stephen Got Even. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales, agent. Six-time stakes winner Horologist is bound for the Breeders’ Cup Distaff prior to sale. Hip No. 224D, Paris Lights, filly by Curlin – Paris Bikini, by Bernardini. Consigned by Elite Sales, agent. Paris Bikini, winner of the Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks, is a half-sister, and bred on the same cross, to Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed America, dam of graded stakes winner First Captain. She is a broodmare prospect with a family full of prominent producers, including Kentucky Oaks winner and Broodmare of the Year Blush With Pride – who, in turn, produced Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour.
