Within a few years of his death, im sure Dr. Roman will add him to the list. He has left an impact and has been the premiere stallion of his day.

More importantly though, some stallions such as Alleged have been ignored by Roman. Would love to know the reasoning behind that.

Does the horse have to be dead in order to be on the list? And I also agree with on you Alleged. I also wonder if Forestry will get on the list as well. He seems to be making an impact as well.

Well I just found out that the horse doesnt need to be dead. I saw Sadler's Wells on this list so I found the answer.

Seems that way which doesnt make sense to me at all. Derby, Preakness, Woodward and Wood and he gets an I. I figure he would be a S.

I think he stated his reasonings pretty well for that one in the body of the article.

I think Dr. Roman's approach to the breed is interesting and should be read by all breeders and people interested in pedigree. But with that said, although I think there can be some valueable tools in his findings with Chef's and Dosage, its more of a very loose barometer of common sense.

He does, but what I dont understand is he seems to not give any influence to the dam. Maybe the speed inheirted to PC offspring is coming from the Dam. He used Pleasant Tap as an example. Maybe PT got his speed from Never Knock. I am thinking unreasonably or am I missing something here?

No, you dont have to be dead. But it appears many of his selections occur after a death. I wonder if its to "insure" the placement of dosage. If the stallion doesnt have any more foals to race, they cant prove his designation wrong.
