Sorry Don. I thought the selection of our contest venue on triple crown days was bound by tradition. Since you tell me there is a choice, I will express my feelings.
NYRA has put together a fantastic race card with 9 major stakes races all in a row. A few of them have slimmer fields but that seems to be the norm these days. The entire card of 13 races is a bit daunting to me, with a race day that starts at 11:35 AM and a final race that doesn't run until 8:05 PM [lots of extra time to visit the ATM if you are ontrack] . The two races after the Belmont Stakes are a bit of an anticlimax. I'd like to end our contest card with Race 11, the Belmont Stakes. A contest of races 1-11 should be enough.
