joking guy....I didn't even know about that game, start of the big east....
I have future money on three teams, Kansas, Georgetown, and Louisville. I don't think Louisville is going to make the tourney but the other two I have at great odds, bet it in October at Ballys |

Yes, that was an butt kicking last night. It pretty much was a disgrace. Wisconsin should have been in that game and not ND. In order for Notre Dame to automatically be in a BCS game, ND must finish in the top 8 of the final BCS standings. This provision is how ND got into the sugar bowl--source is from the BCS web site.
7. If any slots remain unfilled after the placement of all teams qualifying for an automatic berth, then the bowls shall choose their participants from the "pool of eligible teams" (see below.) If berths are available after the automatic qualifiers have been identified, then the bowls shall select at-large participants from the "pool of eligible teams," which shall include any Division I-A team that is bowl-eligible and meets the following requirements: A. Has won at least nine regular-season games, not including exempted games, and B. Is among the top 14 teams in the final BCS Standings Basically, the Sugar Bowl said hmmm......Notre Dame sells tickets and buys crap so we will choose them over Wisconsin. It is a bunch of crap. |

That left WVU and Rutgers as two possibilities, and of course, the hype machine took Notre Dame. What a bunch of BS. Notre Dame would have finished 4th in the Big East this year. I read on the Foxsports website someone wrote "well if ND's opponents had the same academic standards as we do they would have just as tough a time"... no offense to ND, as I think it is fine academic institution, but why don't we compare Notre Dame to it's opponents on difficulty of admissions: Georgia Tech: equal. Penn State: equal. Michigan: Michigan. Michigan State: Notre Dame. Purdue: close, but I'll say Notre Dame. Stanford: Stanford. UCLA: UCLA. Navy: Navy. UNC: probably UNC, but I'll say equal. Air Force: don't know. Army: Army. USC: equal Don't put yourself on a pedestal unless you expect to get knocked down.

but arkansas has issues every year with passing. every year there is a qb controversy--coach gets paid a lot of money to make decisions, and every year houston is scratching his head on who to play. offense can't get in a rythm when you play musical qb's...bad enough when he's torn between two of them, but these guys had three to try to get in sync with. not good. and next year, it'll be the same thing--play casey or mitch?? |
