“...Sounds good. I don't mind a little rain, though. “

*** = 80% is a “Little”

“There may be a lot of scratches”

MORE THAN LIKELY

The field for the Remsen came up on the light side but a card that also includes the Cigar Mile the Go For Wand and the Demoiselle is worth considering. The AQ card only includes one turf race, and even that one has 5 MTO's in case it is taken off of the turf. Rain is predicted for Saturday, and there could be some scratches but I would suggest the overall quality of the racing might be better than the Claiming Crown. The Claiming Crown races are starter stakes that can range from matchups of hard knocking claimers from all over the country to races that get dominated by graded stakes runners who dominate their race because they happened to compete in a claiming race at the designated level sometime in the past two years. The purses are generous enough that some trainers who have a horse who might meet the qualifications plan far in advance for this program.

I think an acceptable compromise would be to do the last two races at Aqueduct(the Demoiselle and the Cigar Mile) which have 8 and 9 starters respectively) and start with Race 4 at Gulfstream and go through Race 11. That would be 10 races in all. So let's plan on doing that.
