71 year old Frank Amonte Sr. tries to set a record today as the oldest person ever to win a race. He's on his son's horse EIGHTNINECENTSDAY in the finale at Aqueduct (9th 1/6). Hope really does spring eternal!

Sorry to report the a Frank Amonte Sr. Has passed away at age 85. Guy loved to ride and was a cool guy. He was fearless.I remember in his bid to ride a winner at age 70 he just got beat by some bug boy last jump. The railbirds were so pissed off at that kid. RIP.
