One thing for sure, if there is a nice low take out on a particular wager, they mention it ALL the time, the other high takeouts never get mentioned. You always hear oh the pick 5 with that low 15% takeout starts on race 6. You don’t hear, oh the late pick 4 with the ridiculous 24% take out starts on the 7th race...

I see that Cantebury Park has only 10 percent takeout on Pick 5 as advertised on their website and was just curious if other tracks follow the same way

Thanks for the info

As the newest of the big multi race wagers, the P5 became the value takeout wager. Before the seasons started, Indiana dropped the P5 to 11.99% hoping to have the lowest rake, but weeks later CBY announced the 10%. NYRA has the 15% late P5 with the added enhancement of excluding the CAW teams.

The odd part of this scenario of course is that big multi-race sequences don't particularly need the hyper aggressive low takeout the way higher churn wagers like WPS and smaller multi-race/multi-horse bets do.

Emerald this year crafted 15% superfectas. I tracked it for the first week and it seemed to be having a positive effect, but small sample under weird conditions, etc.
