You know what? I'd take bragging rights. Just to be a real part of it. I play in a fantasy stable league and it's so much fun. I "own" the filly who won the KY Oaks on Friday. It was thrilling. I own Rushing Fall, I owned Beholder and Covfefe their entire careers. Ok, so it's in a fantasy league. Yet it's still so much fun. It's an emotional connection to a sport I love.

I would love to invest in real life. Maybe one day I will be able to afford to do it. But for a $206 investment in Authentic I'd take bragging rights and wouldn't give a fig of ROI. What a thrilling race to win!

I will echo what Plenilune said. I guess her and I hit the Oaks Derby double since in the same league I own Authentic. A first Derby win for me and I like it! It's always going to be about having "fun".

Must be a great feeling to be able to say, "that's my horse", or "I own him/her" when "your" horse crosses the line first. That has to be true in any race, even a $5,000 claimer, but to own the Derby winner can give you a good feeling for the rest of the year.

Congrats to both Plen and RQ for your combined Oaks/Derby Double

I doubt that anyone here is all that interested in the allure of making a profit. If that was the case for me, then I have failed miserably. My questions about sharing the profits of winning the Derby with the micro investors was one of intellectual curiosity and not meant to condemn anyone that participates in this sort of thing. I am aware that people like to immerse themselves in something that they enjoy and that this is just one more way to do that.
